VEL 46 camos in MW4
The VEL 46 has 18 camos on its own track: eight Military camos from weapon level 9 to 54 (of 60 levels), three Special camos, Gold, Platinum and Harmonic Break, and four Pyroclast camos for Weapon Prestige.
About the VEL 46
Activision describes the VEL 46 as sMG known for maneuverability and smooth, predictable recoil in fast-paced fights. Its Apex Attachment, the VEL 46 Snap, tactical sling for very fast weapon transitions in exchange for stocks. Enables Quick Draw when used with Overkill. The VEL 46 takes 9 attachment types (optic, muzzle, barrel, underbarrel, magazine, rear grip, stock, laser, and ammunition). Camos are equipped in Create a Class, under Edit Custom Class and Camo Select.

Military camos
Military camos unlock by reaching a weapon level, in Multiplayer or DMZ, and the level differs by weapon. On the VEL 46 the first comes at level 9, earlier than the median first level of 11 for SMGs. The gaps between camos run from 5 levels (before Military Camo 5) to 7 levels (before Military Camo 3), 6.4 on average. Its last Military camo sits at 90% of its levels, the third lowest share among the 5 SMGs; the lowest is the ISO Nightshade at 89%.

Special camos
The VEL 46 has three Special camos, each with its own challenge: Jungle Shadow, Ghast, and Gunmetal. The challenges open at weapon levels 20, 40, and 60, the last at the 60-level maximum. Complete a challenge once and the camo can be used on every weapon.

Completionist camos
Gold, Platinum and Harmonic Break come after all Military and Special camos on a weapon. Platinum and Harmonic Break use the challenge of the weapon's class, so every SMG has the same two. Platinum on the VEL 46 also needs Gold on every other SMG: ISO Nightshade, Wz.55 Striga, PPSh-41, and X-58 Nyx.
