M4 camos in MW4
The M4 has 18 camos on its own track: eight Military camos from weapon level 10 to 64 (of 72 levels), three Special camos, Gold, Platinum and Harmonic Break, and four Pyroclast camos for Weapon Prestige.
About the M4
Activision describes the M4 as fully automatic, highly adaptable service rifle that Activision pitches as effective in most engagements. Its Apex Attachment, the M4 Hurricane, converts the M4 into a top-loading, high-capacity 5.7x28 mm variant that is lighter, more agile and fires faster. The M4 takes 9 attachment types (optic, muzzle, barrel, underbarrel, magazine, rear grip, stock, laser, and ammunition). Camos are equipped in Create a Class, under Edit Custom Class and Camo Select.

Military camos
Military camos unlock by reaching a weapon level, in Multiplayer or DMZ, and the level differs by weapon. On the M4 the first comes at level 10, the same as the median first level for assault rifles. The gaps between camos run from 5 levels (before Military Camo 8) to 9 levels (before Military Camo 4), 7.7 on average. Its last Military camo sits at 89% of the M4's levels, the lowest share among the 8 assault rifles.

Special camos
The M4 has three Special camos, each with its own challenge: Myriad, Night Ops, and Green. The challenges open at weapon levels 26, 51, and 72, the last at the 72-level maximum. Complete a challenge once and the camo can be used on every weapon.

Completionist camos
Gold, Platinum and Harmonic Break come after all Military and Special camos on a weapon. Platinum and Harmonic Break use the challenge of the weapon's class, so every assault rifle has the same two. Platinum on the M4 also needs Gold on every other assault rifle: Han 86, Hyeon Burst, Patriot XMR, Kastov 762, Oden, Axion, and Cronen Squall.
